Updated Yarn Photos in the Etsy Shop 😍❤

Today is day 1 of yarn prep for the Calgary Fibre Shindig! So I've got a goal of 10 pots of yarn to dye for today 😉 I have 2 pots going at a time so I should be able to get them done by the end of the day! Then the grind starts again tomorrow ❤

 

In between Dye setting in the pots, I took a few minutes to take updated pictures of the remaining stock I have! I won't be dyeing up anymore of those colorways for the Shindig but they will make future appearances in my Etsy Shop! I'm loving the idea of keeping my stock and colorways rotating for markets and updates. It helps keep my stock at a manageable amount 😍 

 

So if there's anything you see that you like, you might want to snag it before April 15. Saying that! I'll be putting my Shop on Vacation Mode from April 15-24 so I can have that week for Shindig prep. Basically getting my display down ( or a rough idea 😂), making stitch markers and Progress Keepers, making sure items are priced, etc! So if there's anything you want from my Etsy Shop you'll have until April 15 to get it 😍

Delayed FO Photos 😳

My husband has wanted a hand knit sweater for quite a few years and I had just never gotten around to it. I had this stigma in my mind, pretty much like the sweater curse for your boyfriend. Well we've been married for 9 (going on 10 years) and have been together for an additional 6 years before that. Not to mention we have 2 kids and 3 dogs 😂 so maybe I made him wait a little long. I'm pretty sure he's not going anywhere now 😂😂 So I decided to bite the bullet and to finally Knit him a sweater. It was suppose to be for Christmas 2016 but it didn't get done. The knitting portion was done. That just left seaming the underarms and the zipper but that was quickly done a few weeks after Christmas. Just in time for his birthday!

He loves the sweater and has worn it often since receiveing it. I've washed it quite a few times. He loves how it's warm but breathes. The miracles of Merino ❤😂 

The next FO picture is of my Frozen Socks! With my kiddos I can't knit anything except for mindless stockinette socks. I started these socks in October 2016 for the Calgary Fibre Shindig (Fall Edition 😉) and wasn't able to finish them as Christmas knitting was in full swing after! So I casted them off a few weeks ago and they are heavenly!

I'm in full swing prep mode here for the Calgary Fibre Shindig! I had 41 bags cut out a month or two ago and my goal is to get them all done for the shindig! I was able to finishe 11 of them recently and have listed them in my Etsy shop.

I'm hoping to get a few bags listed to the Etsy shop as I get them done. I didn't want to do an update but it seems like there will be small mini updates until the Calgary Fibre Shindig! I want my online customers to have the same accessibility to the products I bring to my markets. So I'm tossing around the idea of doing a 24 hour update via Etsy with a small selection of yarn I'll be bringing to the Calgary Fibre Shindig. Nothing's written in stone yet but if I'm able to have the extra time available before Apr 22 to to this I will definitely make it happen!

Anyone Interested In a Central Alberta Fibre Fair? 😉❤

Since announcing this on Instagram and Facebook I've had a flurry of support. This last year has been substantial for my business and it has grown at a fast pace. I've come to know many vendors at the Calgary Fibre Shindig and Calgary a Fibre Arts Fair and they've become Fibre Friends. It's nice to get support from colleagues and friends alike ❤

People that don't know me may not know but I'm a Do-er. Basically, I speak my mind and tend to offend everyone that doesn't like hearing the truth. Hence why I'm here.  Bureaucracy doesn't like truth, assertiveness or directness which I've had my whole life. So when I find myself in the situation I'm in,

 I....Do.

I'm doing exactly what I told the coordinator I would do. And I've had s flurry of response. So there will be a Central Alberta Fibre Fair.

I'm in the process of securing a venue and date. I encourage all Vendors to let me know what time of the year would work best for them. So far summer is what has been suggested  so it doesn't interfere with the Shindigs, EdmontonFibre Frolic and Calgary Fibre Art Fair. I'm open to communications with potential vendors and instructors! I'm looking at having an open call for vendors and instructors! I'm looking to have 30-40 vendors and hopefully a selection of fleeces (if any farmers with to attend as vendors), a selection of fibre, fibre artists, indie dyers, basically a broad spectrum of the fibre community I love❤❤

I've created a Facebook Group HERE and a Ravelry Group HERE 😄 There's an interactive thread open in the Prairie Fibre Festival Ravelry Group that is looking for customer opinions! Have your voices heard of what you'd like to see at the Prairie Fibre Festival in Central Alberta! I've had an overwhelming amount of support from vendors and teachers / instructors! So what do the customers want 😄❤ What courses would you be interested taking? Knitwear design basics, knitting techniques, how to run a sheep farm? Nothing's off the table! This is the group to follow and get your opinions heard, as the people make an event successful 👍
