The Vendor Call for the Prairie Fibre Festival is Open ❤️❤️

The Vendor Call is open and will remain open until June 1 or until all the booths are filled 😍 I've completed a Vendor Application Form and if your interested in being a vendor send me an email at PrairieFibreFestival@outlook.com and I'll forward you the HTML and PDF files for the application!

I'm looking to provide a broad selection of goods provided by the Fibre Community and since this is Indie Made Market I'll be selecting vendors that have processed, dyed, spun, made or designed (for use in the Fibre Arts) the majority of their items (excluding equipment).  All Applications will be numbered in the order received for future table selection 😄

Any Potential Vendors that are looking at selling just fleeces or any Farmers looking to display just fleeces can contact me directly at prairiefibrefestival@outlook.com .

And all potential Instructors can contact me directly at prairiefibrefestival@outlook.com . There will be a limited amount of courses available and they will be available to everyone that will attend the Prairie Fibre Festival. They should be about 30-60 minutes in length.

Thanks so much to everyone for you support and continued support ❤️❤️ My Fibre Baby is becoming a reality 😍

FO Splatter Socks!!

How spectacular are these tonals in my Pastel Splatter Socks!!

My supplier started selling sock blanks and so I ordered some to try out. I had an aesthetic I wanted to stay with for the finished product. Meaning that I didn't want to have sock blanks that were aesthetically pleasing to the eye but when Knit up customers think, "well.... that looked better in the sock blank".

As a customer myself, I struggled with the aspect of buying a gorgeous sock blank and when knitting it up it looked completely different ........... and not in a good way.

So the outcome were sock blanks dyed with a splatter effect.

They were overall aesthetically pleasing and not repulsive to look at. They even look a little lack lustre.

But when Knit up..... 😍😍

Like how can you NOT love these tonals in these socks! How each of the 3 colors meld into each other!!

The overall finished aesthetic is exactly what I was going for too! Two socks that look like they belong together! There are subtle differences but they look like they are related. Not thrice married, twice removed and like 8th cousins on your maternal side 😂

I'm thinking that after the Edmonton Fibre Frolic I may have to do some more sock blanks for my Etsy Shop 😍❤️ In the mean time there's only 2 left in my Etsy Shop!!

Local Icelandic Lopi is on Sale 😍

We're moving into Spring so I decided to put the Local Icelandic Lopi on sale ❤️❤️ It's normally $28 each and is currently $20 a skein! There's only 12 skeins left in my Etsy Shop on 3 colorways!! Local Icelandic Lopi is Local to Alberta and was spun at Custom Woolen Mills. It's a fabulous Bulky Weight that takes Dye wonderfully and is soft, light and lofty but is a bit rustic. It's perfect and warm enough to make a nice light, lofty and WARM Toque :-)

Grizzly - 2 skeins left

Maligne - 5 skeins left

And Rosebud - 5 skeins left!!

Snag one while you can 😍

We Have a Date for the Prairie Fibre Festival!!

As I hinted before, after the Calgary Fibre Shindig it was going to bring about a flurry of planning for the Prairie Fibre Festival!! I booked the Lacombe Memorial Centre as the banquet area is HUGE and is adjacent to a coffee bar area that I also rented out! I have plans to use the Coffee Bar area for a Knit in / Spin in area 😍

The banquet area can easily hold 30-40 vendors! There will be a vendor and Instructor call shortly. Over the next few days. I just need to finish making up the applications. So keep your eyes peeled!

In the mean time, I've opened up a Guild Call for Central Alberta. Specifically the Red Deer area. Many guilds are struggling and don't have the financial means to pay for table fees. So there are a select few tables I have reserved for guilds. I want to have attendees be aware of their local guilds and the untapped knowledge they have in the Fibre Arts! So if you know anyone or are a part of a guild in the Red Deer and surrounding area please email prairiefibrefestival@outlook.com for more info!

I'm a firm supporter that knowledge should be passed down through the generations. This is a great way to support that and support local guilds❤️

Etsy Update Monday April 24 at 10am MST!!

The Calgary Shindig was an awesome day and went super fast in a blur!! I got to meet so many awesome people and reconnect with so many fibre friends that I get to meet in person at these awesome events! I'm a firm believer that everyone should have a name tag with their Instagram and Ravelry name on it 😂

So today was a day of relaxing a bit and going through my remaining inventory! I've updated the stock in my Etsy shop so it will repopen tomorrow with everything I have left instock! There are a few gems in there 😉 I put a quick preview in the Prairie Dye Studio Group and there will be a few Project Bags that are discounted and the last of my Local Icelandic Lopi skeins are on sale for $20 a skein. We're moving into Spring / Summer so if you'd like to stock up on some super bulky skeins for the fall 😉😉

Happy Shopping tomorrow 😍

Calgary Fibre Shindig Preview!!

I've been a busy lady the last month and I think I finally have it dialed in! I did the bulk of my work 2 weeks ago so I was able to tie up loose ends the week before the Calgary Fibre Shindig!

If you in the Calgary area be sure to check out the Shindig! It's a fun market and this year it's grown to encompass the adjasant room in the Hillhurst Sunnyside Centre! There always quality vendors there and an abundance of yarnie goodness 😍❤️

I did a full preview of all the yarn I'm bringing on the PrairieDyeStudio Facebook Group  so if you haven't checked it out yet, GO!! There's a summary of how many skeins are available on what bases and what colorways! To help you figure out your Shopping the day before 😉

If your not sure where my booth is I'm in booth 4 which is right by one of the entrances!

Make sure you pop in and say hi!!

Happy Shopping 😄
